THE ORIGINAL 1,2,3 JUMP

1,2,3 Jump was first originated in 2004 to teach jump rope skills to adults in an effort to improve their cardiovascular endurance and overall fitness levels.  This one-hour clinic was held in conjunction with “Learn How to Box” and “The Next Level of Fitness” instructed by Wilmenia Gripper, Mike Dixon, and Phillip Henderson at Peak Fitness in Concord, NC.

1,2,3 Jump was then offered as a thirty-minute aerobics class during the summer months at Peak Fitness.  It would not be until two years later that 1,2,3 Jump reemerged, this time with children in mind and a concept redesigned to get more children jumpin'!

The program served as after school enrichment for thirty students and it focused on jumping rope and engaging students and families within the community.

The program was a huge success and on

October 3, 2006, 1,2,3 JUMP was founded as a nonprofit corporation.  1,2,3 JUMP would continue to host programs within Kannapolis City Schools and partner with local business to expand their mission within the community.
